Panelists:

  • Bob Geiman – General Partner, Polaris Ventures. Bob is an industry expert on VoIP who sits on the board of directors of Bridgeport Networks, a leading provider of MobileVoIP applications and Fixex/Mobile Convergence software infrastructure, and is a former executive at MCK Communications, an early innovator in the field of SIP-based enterprise voice products.
  • Nitzan Shaer – Entrepreneur-in-Residence, IDG Ventures. Nitzan founded and led the Mobile Product group at Skype Technologies. Nitzan joined Skype from Microsoft where he served as Senior Product Manager of Emerging Business for the company’s Mobile and Embedded Division.
  • Timothy Jasionowski – Technology Director and Senior Technologist, Rich Media, Nokia Enterprise Solutions. Timothy is responsible for research and early-stage development of new Enterprise-class products in the real-time communication market, including Voice and Video over IP, Presence and Availability Management and Instant Messaging. Before joining Nokia, Timothy was Chief Technology Officer of Streamdoor (UK), an IP voice application services provider focused on Hosted IP Communication services, and Director of Product Incubation and Strategy at Qwest Communications, responsible for next generation product development.

Moderator:

  • David Feldman – Managing Director, Feldman Advisors, LLC, a strategy and business development advisory firm. Feldman has served major mobile operators and wireline broadband providers, for whom VoIP is both a threat and an opportunity, and previously pioneered “voice over system software distribution” by recording the “Quack” beepsound included in every copy of Mac OS for about a decade in the 90′s.

Directions: (Map): From the Kendall Square Subway Stop, exit the Red Line at the east (river) end of the platform. Walk towards the river and make a right on Wadsworth Street (Bank of America on corner). Walk one block to Amherst Street. Building E51 will be on the corner facing you. Walk through the lobby of E51 and up the stairs and bear to your right. Take the stairs or elevator to the 3rd floor. At the top of the stairs, turn right (away from the bridge to an adjacent building) and walk to the end of the hall. At the intersection with the next hall make a right. You will pass through a lounge with windows on your left facing the river. E51-395 is at the end of this wing.
