Looking forward to seeing everyone at Mobile Monday this June 5th at 7pm at MIT Sloan. We welcome Adam Zawel as our moderator for the Mobile Entertainment panel.

INmobile is an exclusive on-line community for executives in wireless. Adam’s role is to moderate the community, and act as the catalyst for relevant discussions. Prior to joining inmobile.org, Adam was Director of Wireless US Research with The Yankee Group. He is also a former Peace Corps volunteer.

From the Kendall Square Subway Stop, exit the Red Line at the east (river) end of the platform. Walk towards the river and make a right on Wadsworth Street (Bank of America on corner). Walk one block to Amherst Street. Building E51 will be on the corner facing you. Walk through the lobby of E51 and up the stairs and bear to your right. Take the stairs or elevator to the 3rd floor. At the top of the stairs, room 315 will be facing you.

Mobile Entertainment Speaker Biographies:
Roger Wood, Founder, Shu Entertainment Group
Roger is Founder, Executive Producer & Chief Marketing Officer for Shu Entertainment Group, an independent entertainment production company focused on the creation and marketing of original material for mobile phones which bridge offline and online entertainment. Previously, Roger served as Corporate Vice President of Global Marketing at Reebok International and as Director and General Manager of the international business division for the consortium of start-up companies now known as T-Mobile USA (then called Omnipoint, Voicestream, Aerial and Powertel.) He began his wireless career in 1993 with Motorola’s iDEN Division, where he launched the best-selling phone brand iDEN for Nextel. Roger is a 4th generation graduate from his family alma maters, Morehouse & Spelman Colleges in Atlanta, Georgia with a concentration in marketing and statistics. He attended Columbia University’s Computer Technology Applications Program in New York City. He graduated from the Harvard Business School with an MBA concentration in strategy and international business.
Marc Theermann, CMO, Everypoint Inc.
Marc Theermann, a veteran in the wireless space, founded YellowPepper, which helped launch the wireless marketing movement in the U.S. After leading YellowPepper to become one of the world’s premier mobile marketing companies, Theermann sold the company in January 2004. Marc is now part of the executive team that started Everypoint, the world’s foremost wireless content studio for real-time, mobile applications. At Everypoint Marc is responsible for the firm’s sales and marketing activities. Marc holds an M.B.A. degree from Northeastern University and a Masters in International Management from Thunderbird. He speaks three languages, and makes mean German Sauerbraten.
Daniel West, Vice President of Marketing, Nellymoser
Daniel West has been actively involved in mobile technology and rich media applications for ten years, working with leading media companies throughout North America and Europe. Prior to working at Nellymoser, he founded BigBoard Networks, a broadband wireless media and content management solutions company. Prior to BigBoard, West served as vice president of strategic marketing for ITEC Entertainment where he headed marketing and new ventures, including the launch of The ITEC Network, a pioneer mobile broadcast network acquired by Canadian media company Torstar.

Yestarday Mobile Monday Boston was a huge success. We had the meeting at the Nokia Research Center at MIT. The room was full and the interest in the meetings is increasing. Join the mailing list if you want to receive more information about MoMoBoston and upcoming meetings. We would like to thank Paul Wisner from Nokia Research Center for providing the location and great refreshments.

The next Mobile Monday Boston will be on May 1st at 7pm. The focus this month will be on demonstrations of mobile applications and technologies. Refreshment will be served.

The first meeting of the Mobile Monday Boston was yesterday and it was a great success. More then 60 people filled the room at MIT.
The speakers, James Talbot from Adobe and Franklin Davis from Nokia did a great job and answer many questions. Although we had some issues with the network we were able to record the meeting:

Speakers bios:
Franklin Davis: As Head of Business Development for Nokia’s Web Browser for S60, Franklin Davis is working with Internet companies and organizations towards creation of a rich mobile browsing ecosystem. The new browser enables a full Web browsing experience on mobile devices, based on the WebCore and JavaScriptCore open source components that are used by Apple’s Safari Internet browser. These components are based on KDE’s Konqueror open source project. This software has enabled Nokia to achieve improvements in Web site usability on smartphones through the re-use of a proven desktop rendering engine that has been developed and optimized by a large open source community over many years.. Collaboration of S60 with the open source community will fuel innovation and ensure support for the latest Web technologies.
Franklin is passionate about enabling people to find information and services, aiming to create “Addictive Mobile Browsing”–make mobile access to the Web so interesting, easy, and valuable that people will use it all the time. He has a masters in software engineering and 25 years experience in the software industry.
James Talbot: James has been with Adobe (formerly Macromedia) for over six years, on both the sales engineering and training teams, and has most recently been working with Flex and Flash Lite. He has traveled extensively throughout the world promoting Adobe products and certifying Adobe instructors as well as speaking at conferences. He has written Object Oriented ActionScript 2.0 published by New Riders Press and is currently working on a book about Flex Builder and ActionScript 3 to be published in May. James has been an integral team member on high profile Rich Internet Application consulting assignments for companies such as AOL/Time Warner, JP Morgan and TV Guide.
James is actively involved in the Adobe worldwide instructor and developer community, and contributes to developer certification exams as well as organizing and speaking at user groups. James is passionate about Flash on devices as well as rich internet applications and believes both technologies will change the world for the better.

Boston Mobile Monday’s are intended to bring together local individuals and companies interested in the mobile space. It’s about sharing ideas, it’s about networking, and it’s about hearing presentations by those with unique mobile expertise and experience. Judging by the link count on MobileMonday.com, we are the 19th Mobile Monday group internationally.
The first Boston Mobile Monday is scheduled for Monday, April 3rd. Location is TBD, most likely Cambridge area. To stay updated, RSVP and sign up for the Mailing List.
