Metrics presentations

I’ve uploaded the metrics presentations from Monday night.

We had some great speakers this past Monday, thanks to all who attended and especially Sanji, John, Ryan, and Kevin for their very informative presentations.

Thanks also to Jeff Hunt for the phone projector. He asked me to let everyone know Project-A-Phone is offering a 10% discount to MoMo members (just use the keyword MoMo).

Here the recording of the meeting and presentations. — Alessandro

Mobile Monday Boston — October 16th meeting

Hey everyone. Mobile Monday is coming up next week (October 16th) at MIT Sloan. Here’s the rundown…

Widsets is being called the best example of Web 2.0 on the phone. After months of buzz, they officially launched last week and Sanji Fernando will be here to show us how to get widgets on the handset.

And we’ll have three premier providers of mobile metrics to provide us with real data on what’s happening in the mobile industry:

If any of you have mobile data points that you’ve been waiting to get your hands on, please show up with questions. We’ll set aside plenty of time for Q&A.

**Apologies for those who tried to register using Evite, we ran into some technical difficulties. All are welcome whether or not you signed up.**

Cost: free!

Where: At MIT Sloan, room E51-395, 70 Memorial Drive, Cambridge, MA (entrance at Amherst and Wadsworth Streets near Kendall Square)

Momo-Show

Thank you to the group who came out to the past Monday’s show and tell event. We had a lot of fun seeing some “impromptu” hardware and software demos.

We look forward to seeing you at our next Momo in September. Note, we are working on doing a joint event with another group, so we will probably be getting together the third Monday of September (the 18th) rather than the first Monday, as usual. Watch the blog for updates.

For those of you who are interested, Matt Nuffort, who demonstrated his project-a-phone technology at the Momo-Show and Tell, would like to extend a discount out to members of the Boston Momo Group. See your Yahoo group email for details.

Speakers bios:

Stephanie Rieger: With a background in sociology, design and education, Stephanie has over 10 years experience in marketing, usability and interactive design—with a particular focus on casual gaming and edutainment for kids and tweens. Stephanie has been following trends in mobile learning, marketing, and content for several years and now brings her ideas to Yiibu—a mobile company focused on lifestyle and learning content. Stephanie is based in Vancouver, Canada but spends several months out of each year observing cultural and technology trends in South East Asia.
About Yiibu: During idle moments on the subway, in-between meetings, or running to soccer practice—mobile devices are increasingly becoming an integral part of our lives. They’re also one of the most ubiquitous forms of personal expression and often say as much about you as your profession, the car you drive, or what you choose to do in times of leisure. Yiibu creates small lifestyle and learning applications for those ‘in-between-moments’ you spend with your mobile devices. No shoot-em-up games, stock trackers or productivity applications—just good old fashioned long-tail content for young and old.
